“… a worthy object of repeated and everchanging contemplation.”
As I contemplate my journey through life, I sometimes think about the path’s I did not take. Adages of, “the grass is always greener on the side of the fence”; Robert Frost’s poem, “The Road Not Taken”.
Knowing whichever way I chose, I’m sure to have missed something good on the original path.
Never quite satisfied with my own situation – thinking others have it better.
Like the horse in this image, wishing to be on the other side.
At these times, I step back and look at the bigger picture. Seeing that things may not have gone as I had planned … my idealized level of perfection of my life’s ambitions… not even close! But seeing the progress made.
Acknowledging how far I’ve really come. A time to be present and enjoy the success that I did achieve and the progress I did make.
Invigorated, I continue on my everchanging journey, refreshed and energized to see what may happen on the other side.
